Evening Singing at Johan Borups Folk High School

A warm and informal musical evening where community and singing take centre stage. Headmaster Julie Sass introduces five carefully selected songs from the Folk High School Songbook, sharing the personal stories behind each choice — from well-known classics to long-forgotten treasures waiting to be (re)discovered.

After the host has set the tone, the evening opens to audience requests. Everyone can suggest their musical favourites, and the singing host chooses from the suggestions. Pianist Louise Schrøder provides the musical foundation and ties the evening together beautifully at the piano.

You do not need to be an experienced singer to be welcome. The point is to be together, listen actively and feel the special energy when people sing and share music across differences. Come as you are — alone or with friends, everyone has a place here.
