Give your child the opportunity to discover fencing as a fun and different sport. Trekanten's children's team at DGI Byen offers training for 6-10 year-olds in a safe setting in central Copenhagen. The team is open to both complete beginners and slightly experienced fencers — no prior experience required.
During training, fundamental movements, footwork, balance, distance and technique are practiced. Children learn to attack, defend and react to their opponent through a mix of warm-ups, games, partner exercises, technical training and small bouts. Everything is adapted to the age group and experience level, so everyone is challenged at the right pace.
Fencing strengthens motor skills, coordination, balance and reaction speed while training concentration and quick decision-making. Children also learn to celebrate achievements, set goals and feel their own progress in a community based on fair play, respect and fun together with others.
What should your child bring? Long training trousers, t-shirt, indoor sports shoes and a water bottle. The fencing club provides all fencing equipment — you do not need to buy anything to get started.
Training takes place both Monday and Thursday, so there is flexibility if one day doesn't work. Book a free trial session and let your child experience fencing at DGI Byen with a safe introduction and professional guidance.
