Your son or daughter can experience a sport full of speed, tactics, and physical challenge at Fencing Club Trekanten's Thursday session in Ryparken. Children and young people aged 9-14 have the opportunity to learn fencing in a safe and motivating environment, whether they are complete beginners or already have some experience.
Training is tailored to each participant's level. Beginners receive thorough instruction in fencing movements, footwork, balance, and distance, while more experienced fencers can work further on technique and tactics. What matters most is curiosity and the courage to try something new — some participate for fun and fitness, others wish to develop more purposefully and perhaps compete in tournaments. There is room for both approaches.
Fencing strengthens both body and mind: fitness, motor skills, coordination, and reaction time develop through exercises and bouts. At the same time, children learn to make quick decisions, maintain an overview, and handle both victories and defeats. Community, fair play, and helping each other are at the heart of training.
It is completely normal to feel nervous before your first session. Experienced coaches warmly welcome new participants and ensure a safe start with equipment and initial exercises. Children should bring long training trousers, a T-shirt, indoor sports shoes, and a drink bottle. The fencing club provides masks, jackets, and weapons, so there are no costs to get started. Changing rooms and shower facilities are available on site.
Practical info: Training runs Thursdays 16.00-18.00 at Ryparken Sports Facility. Free trial training can be booked directly — contact the club for other training sessions and times for other age groups.
