Andersens Kuffertteater brings H.C. Andersen's classic fairy tale to life through an enchanting puppet theatre designed for children aged 3 to 9. The performance "The Nightingale" takes the audience on a magical journey to China, granting them access to the glittering palace of the Chinese emperor.
The poetic story unfolds in a musical and fantastical manner, where children meet the small nightingale, who later becomes banished from the emperor's realm. The reason: the emperor has been captivated by an artificial bird, crafted from gold and adorned with precious rubies and diamonds. Yet the story takes an important turn when the emperor discovers that everything artificial eventually wears down and can break – a hidden lesson about true beauty and worth.
The emperor's servant, performed by a human actor, serves as the audience's guide throughout the narrative, while all other characters are presented as elegant puppets. A performance that both wonders and inspires while entertaining.
