This two-day workshop focuses on dramaturgical analysis of documentary film. You will learn to work with conceptual material, recorded material and the director's intentions to understand how stories are built in reality-based filmmaking.
The course concentrates on techniques for identifying underlying conflicts, turning points and character development in authentic film material — without forcing the material into fiction film templates. You will develop dramaturgy tools that respect reality while creating cinematic engagement and narrative power.
