During the autumn holidays, the Glyptotheque invites children and families to a creative workshop where you can design and make clothes for Roman sculptures. Inspired by the special exhibition Power and Fashion in the Roman Empire, you explore the Romans' colourful clothing and accessories through hands-on work.
You work with photographs of the museum's sculptures, transparent paper and colours. Using the paper, you can measure and draw togas, jewellery, hats, sunglasses and other accessories — either as historically accurate as possible or entirely to your own imagination. Once your design is drawn, you cut it out and apply it to the paper sculptures.
All your creations are displayed on large magnetic boards, where they can inspire other visitors or be taken home.
