Eurydice is an artistic performance about change, loss, and everyday heroism. Through the story of five-year-old Leni with her superman costume and Eurydice five years into what comes next, the work explores themes of plunging into the unknown and how the world constantly transforms. A story about this world and the next.
The performance is created by Wright&Grainger, a duo of Alexander Wright (text) and Phil Clive Grainger (music), based in North Yorkshire. The lyrical and musical work weaves live electronica together with soaring spoken word in a unique blend of music theatre and storytelling. The work won Best Theatre at Adelaide Fringe 2019 and has received critical acclaim for its poetic power and contemporary approach to theatrical storytelling.
Wright&Grainger have performed at festival venues including Latitude Festival, Summerhall, Mumbai International Literature Festival, Sydney Opera House, York Theatre Royal, and Norwich Playhouse, as well as on smaller tours throughout the UK. Previous work includes the immersive Great Gatsby production, which played for five years in London and toured to New York.
