Gain practical insight into forensic medicine through an immersive VR experience. PhD Efsevia Daskalaki has designed this interactive virtualization to illustrate and communicate the key processes in an autopsy. Visitors are guided through how forensic pathologists examine the body and apply their methods - a central part of the identification process.
The VR experience is the result of Efsevia Daskalaki's PhD project at the University of Crete, conducted in collaboration with Elena Kranioti and the HCI-Lab at the Institute of Computer Sciences, Foundation of Research and Technology - Hellas in Heraklion. The training tool focuses on virtual autopsies of the head and thorax and is developed both to educate and to provide the public with a deeper understanding of forensic medicine's vital work.
The event is linked to the SOLID exhibition and takes place in English. The visit takes place at Nørrebro Library from 5-7 October.
