Arbejdermuseet invites you to an evening of community singing and a song lecture about Matador and the Workers' Songbook. Historian Mikkel Skovgaard Petersen will be at the microphone and piano, exploring how the Workers' Songbook is used as a symbol of class differences in Korsbæk, including the contrast with the Varnæs family's musical preferences and the town hall meeting during the occupation, where "Når jeg ser et rødt flag smælde" takes on special significance.
The evening is divided into two sets: first a historical presentation, followed by a request concert where guests choose which songs from the Workers' Songbook should be sung and are welcome to share a short anecdote about them. After the singing, Café & Øl-Halle will serve a favourite from traditional Danish smallholder cuisine. Admission: 195 kr. Venue: Arbejdermuseet.
