My Beautiful Skin is a distinctive exhibition that uses photography and artistic expression to tell a compelling story about the beauty and humanity of skin variations. The exhibition compares skin diseases to patterns found in nature – mosaics, islands, and plateaus – transforming stigmatized marks into artistic statements. The aim is to reduce shame surrounding visible skin conditions and present people as they are, with spots, marks, and blemishes as an integral part of their identity.
The exhibition was created by physician Charlotte Näslund Koch, nurse Anna Sophie Belling Krontoft, photographer Marie Hald, and physician Jesper Elberling. As a traveling exhibition, it has visited several Danish folk high schools, fostering new understanding and empathy among students at each location.
Finissage: You are welcome to attend the finissage on 28 September from 4–5 pm, where you can experience the exhibition for the last time at this venue and enjoy a drink at the school's bar. The event is free but requires advance registration. The exhibition is on display at Borups Højskole København.
