Learn essential first aid designed specifically to handle critical situations with babies and young children. This practice-oriented workshop equips parents, childminders and other caregivers with the knowledge and skills to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.
The instructor, Marianne Mogensen, is a physiotherapist and certified first aid instructor (Dansk Førstehjælpsråd) with extensive experience as a health professional and formerly as a sergeant in Danish Civil Defense. She teaches in small groups with frequent hands-on practice using specialized baby and child manikins that provide direct feedback to your mobile phone via the QCPR app.
Program
- The 4 steps of first aid
- Assessment of consciousness and breathing
- CPR for babies (0-12 months) and children (1-8 years) – thorough practical training
- Recovery position
- Use of AED defibrillator
- Prevention and first aid for choking – thorough practical training
- Signs of serious infections, falls, burns and chemical injuries, poisoning, fever cramps and seizures
Courses are held almost every month in both 3-hour (CPR and choking) and 4-hour extended versions (including injuries). You can choose to attend both or just one variant on the same day.
Practical Information
Registration is per adult (18+). You may bring a baby (0-12 months) at no extra cost – it is not required but absolutely welcome. Pregnant participants are also welcome. The course is in English.
