Learn first aid for babies and young children with experienced physiotherapist and instructor Marianne Mogensen. The courses focus on what matters most: how to act correctly in an emergency with a child aged 0-8 years.
The course covers the four steps of first aid, assessment of consciousness and breathing, CPR for babies (0-12 months) and young children (1-8 years), recovery position and use of AED. There is thorough practice in CPR and choking prevention. You will also learn to recognize signs of serious infections, falls, burns, poisoning, fever seizures and other types of seizures.
The extended 4-hour course includes additional instruction on medium-severe bleeding, bites and stings (incl. tick removal), foreign objects in eyes, ears and nose, toxic plants, tooth injuries and sprains and dislocations.
You will train in small groups using special baby and child CPR manikins. The instructor has a healthcare background and is certified by Dansk Førstehjælpsråd. She is also a physiotherapist, ergonomics teacher and motor skills instructor and was previously a sergeant in the Danish Civil Defense.
