Flemming shares his personal story of 40 years of addiction, homelessness, and survival on the streets of Copenhagen. With candor and rawness, he tells of life as an addict – the endless searching for the next fix, the profound loneliness, and the daily struggle to find a toilet, a shower, and a safe place to sleep.
Through his journey with his partner Diana and their dog Pixie, Flemming shows how one navigates the city as a homeless person and why some nights on the 11th floor feel safer than in a basement corridor. He reflects on addiction as a disease that transforms both body and mind – about the lies one must tell to survive, and the long work of fighting dependency. After 20 treatment attempts and now on substitution medication, Flemming speaks with pride about the battles he has won, even though the journey continues.
