Blågårdens Library invites adults to an entertaining evening of readings, where the librarian presents excerpts from literature that has been banned and seized throughout history. The event is part of Danish PEN's annual campaign #ForbiddenBooks, running October 5–11, 2026, and focuses on freedom of expression and the right to read without censorship.
Expect everything from spicy vampire stories to revolutionary poems once considered dangerous. Throughout the evening, drinks will be served, and you can participate in a fun quiz about forbidden literature – with an appropriately forbidden prize for the winner.
The event is completely free and requires no booking – just drop by.
