A musical puppet show performed by puppeteer Astrid Kjær. Based on Leo Lionni's classic children's book, "Frederik" tells the story of a rather different mouse. While all the others scurry about collecting food for winter, Frederik sits and dreams, observing colours, sunlight and scents. The other mice are confused by his lack of effort – until the snow falls and the food runs out. Then Frederik proves his value by sharing all the stories, colours and impressions he has gathered.
The show uses puppets, music and shadow play to convey an important message: we are different, and it matters. We cannot all do the same thing, but together we can do so much more. An artistic experience that transports children into a magical world of storytelling and imagination, up close and personal.
Part of the Theater Magic Autumn Holiday Festival in week 42, which presents theatrical art at various venues across Copenhagen's neighbourhoods. The festival is supported by the Augustinus Foundation and Copenhagen's Scenic Art Committee.
