HANS LYNGE — An Evening on the Author with Jessie Kleemann, Kirsten Thisted and Jens Heinrich

This special literary evening explores the work of Greenlandic author, artist and social commentator Hans Lynge (1906–1988) through presentations and discussions. The focus is particularly on how Lynge used his literature to oppose Danish colonialism and give voice to the Greenlandic people.

Hans Lynge's major work, the novel The Invisible One's Will (1938), is considered a classic of Greenlandic literature. Following a reprint in 2018, it has recently been included in the Danish literary canon. Publisher Gladiator has also released a collected volume of Lynge's three memoirs: Nûk (1978), Greenland's Inner Life – Memories from Childhood (1981) and Greenland's Inner Life – Memories from Seminary Time (1988).
