Since 1959, Jazzhus Montmartre has hosted legendary jam sessions, and this tradition continues strongly. Each evening starts with the venue's own jam trio, but what makes the arrangement special is precisely its unpredictability – you never know which talents might suddenly take the stage.
The venue has witnessed visits from world-class musicians since its reopening in 2010. The list of artists who have spontaneously participated includes names such as Stevie Wonder, vocalists Macy Gray and Charenee Wade, and jazz legends including Ambrose Akinmusire, Thomas Morgan, Chris Potter, Bobby Watson, Billy Hart, Lee Pearson, Greg Hutchinson, Eric Harland and many more.
Jam sessions are held on selected Wednesdays during the spring and autumn seasons, as well as eight days during the Copenhagen Jazz Festival in July. The program starts at 21.30.
