I've Brought a Friend is a concert featuring Joakim Okkels and Jesper Lohmann, which began as a spontaneous meeting at Tønder Festival 2025. The chemistry was immediate, and the audience experienced something extraordinary—a generational encounter beyond compare. Radio host Alex Nyborg Madsen described it as a "father-and-son constellation in the folk scene".
Joakim Okkels is an emerging singer and songwriter from Southern Jutland who, together with his orchestra Mallemuk, released the album Eviggrøn 2000. His memorable and storytelling songs are making their mark on the Danish folk scene, and this autumn he will perform as a regular opener for his inspiration Allan Olsen. Jesper Lohmann from the western outskirts of Copenhagen brings his extensive catalogue of Danish songs, Otto Brandenburg, and Danish translations of Johnny Cash.
The concert celebrates the meeting between city and country, where experienced artist and young talent exchange music and stories in a heartfelt and authentic spirit.
