Violinist Justina la Cour launches her new concert series featuring three emerging artists from the "Dornonville Soloists" platform. Cellist Lara Biancalana, violinist Justina la Cour, and pianist Marina Saiki perform together in a program leading up to their debut performance in Sydney in Fall 2026.
Each artist brings their own distinctive voice, and together they create a shared musical language - intimate, searching, and alive. The concert is structured in two parts.
Part One: Encounters and Impressions
The program unfolds as a series of encounters centered on "The Encounter" by Toru Takemitsu - a work marked by suspended time and fragile presence. Around this, contrasting worlds emerge: the elemental perspectives of Julian Gargiulo, the luminous lyricism of Carl Nielsen and Rued Langgaard, and the emotional depth of Guillaume Lekeu.
Part Two: Dialogue and Connections
The second part opens into dialogue between the musicians. The trio by Lili Boulanger unfolds through shifting colors and delicate textures, while Maurice Ravel's sonata brings clarity, rhythm, and refined intensity. From solitude to connection, from stillness to movement - the program traces a journey through encounters, inviting the listener into a space where each moment feels immediate and alive.
