Experience a live lecture with Professor Karen Vallgårda, one of Denmark's leading experts in the history of emotions. The subject is love and marriage – and how our understanding of these fundamental relationships has evolved from the turn of the century to today.
From being a social institution, marriage develops into a project of personal self-realization – but what happens when the dream breaks? Vallgårda explores this transformation through history and reflects on the future of marriage in modern divorce society.
Editor Janus Lauritsen moderates the conversation, which concludes with an open debate. The event is part of the Main Library's conversation series in collaboration with the magazines RÆSON and ÆRA. Free admission with ticket required, but note that seats cannot be reserved and sightlines to the stage vary from different locations. The event takes place on the 4th floor, Main Stage.
