Kaleiido

The duo KALEIIDO invites listeners into an enchanting musical universe where time seems to stand completely still. They deliver a uniquely atmospheric ambient jazz experience without predetermined arrangements – an improvisational art rooted in the deepest traditions of jazz combined with a radical demand for total artistic freedom. The result is spontaneous music that moves freely through time and space: music filled with mystery and wonder, where fluid sound surfaces and spatial soundscapes are woven together into cinematic audio collages that shift tone by tone – like the endlessly varying patterns in a kaleidoscope.

KALEIIDO is created by two of the country's great visionary improvisers: saxophonist Cecilie Strange and guitarist Anna Roemer. Strange draws deep inspiration from the jazz world and has released award-winning music herself, while Roemer brings a rich, colorful sound aesthetic from the pop, rock, and indie scene, where she has collaborated with artists such as Asger Techau and Ida Kudo. This contrast between their backgrounds gives the band its distinctive musical edge. Together they have garnered great recognition – including the prestigious Carl Prize as "Jazz Composer of the Year" in both 2023 and 2024.

Reviewers praise their work as music full of mystery and wonderment, where the saxophone and guitar embrace each other in a heartfelt way and testify to an artistic maturity that approaches the transcendent.
