Get a thorough introduction to ceramics and wheel throwing under the guidance of trained artist Marianne Krumbach. The course is aimed at beginners who want to learn the technique from scratch, or experienced potters who wish to expand their skills.
You start with the essential techniques — centering, building up to a cylinder, and shaping simple objects. Next, you explore more advanced methods such as trimming, attaching handles, and glazing. Along the way, you'll become familiar with different clay types and tools used in the throwing process.
Marianne Krumbach is a graduate of the Design School in Kolding and works from her studio in Copenhagen NW. She specializes particularly in nature-inspired, sculptural works and has exhibited widely both nationally and internationally.
Program: 10 Mondays from August 17 to October 26, 2026 (no classes in week 42). The class has a maximum of 10 participants. 8 kg of clay and firing plus glazing are included. Extra clay can be purchased (max 3 kg). Bring work clothes. Participants help with tidying and maintaining the studio. Note: tickets are non-refundable from 14 days before the start. English interpretation available for interested participants — speak to the instructor at the first session.
