Join a 10-week beginner ceramic wheel throwing course at the cozy studio at Vesterbro Library and Cultural Centre. Perfect if you've never thrown before or want to practice fundamental techniques.
You will learn:
- Centering and foundational wheel skills
- Pulling to cylinder and basic shape throwing
- Trimming, handle attachment, and glazing
- Introduction to different stoneware clays and studio tools
Instruction is led by ceramic artist Marianne Krumbach, a graduate of the Design School in Kolding. She works from her studio in Copenhagen and has exhibited her work widely both domestically and internationally.
The course runs over 10 Mondays from 17 August to 26 October 2026 (no class in week 42). Maximum 10 participants. Price is 3,200 kr, including instruction, 8 kg clay, kiln firing, and glazing. Additional clay can be purchased (up to 3 kg).
Bring work clothes that can get dirty. Participants assist with cleanup and studio maintenance. English-speaking participants can receive translation – please inform the instructor at your first session.
