Experience a dreamlike sonic journey of exceptional poetic quality when Italian-Congolese composer and singer Laryssa Kim presents her universe of ambient electronics, electroacoustic soundscapes and floating vocal textures at ALICE. Laryssa Kim, educated in electroacoustic composition at the Royal Music Conservatory in Mons, creates nearly ceremonial sound landscapes rooted in musique concrète and dreamlike compositions. Her latest album "Contezza" (2024) showcases an artist weaving melodies in Italian and French into hypnotic sound collages. She has previously created music for the film "Mobutu's Game" (2025) and builds her work on a unique blend of contemporary scene culture and electronic exploration, developed through her connections to Rome, Amsterdam and Brussels.
At ALICE, an ethereal landscape inspired by Twin Peaks' mystery emerges—here vocal loops meet field recordings, minimalist trip-hop elements and flowing electroacoustic passages. Laryssa Kim's ability to create transformation between song, sound art and dream makes the concert a hypnotic experience where the senses awaken and the mind wanders toward dark, enigmatic nighttime vistas.
The evening opens with American duo Amirtha Kidambi & Angel Deradoorian, who seamlessly unite Indian devotional music, Armenian cultural heritage and experimental improvisation. With voices, flutes and electronics woven over harmonium drones and synthesizer sounds, a spiritual and transformative sound experience emerges filled with microtonal tensions that balance between darkness and light. Amirtha Kidambi contributes vocals and electronics, while Angel Deradoorian performs vocals, flute and electronics.
