Join us at Arbejdermuseet's festival hall for a literature afternoon dedicated to one of Danish social realism's most important voices. Literary critic and cultural mediator Maja Lykketoft and author Pernille Ipsen explore Dea Trier Mørch's artistic journey and cultural-historical significance.
About Dea Trier Mørch
Raised in artistic circles, Dea Trier Mørch trained as a visual artist and was active in the political artist collective Røde Mor during the 1970s. With her novel Vinterbørn (1976), she achieved her literary breakthrough. Through 18 books, she has captured readers' hearts with her stories of everyday realities — addressing motherhood, art and politics, gender roles, and life crises. She has been a central figure in depicting the cultural history of Danish women.
About the Event
The afternoon explores Pernille Ipsen's newly published biography Spring — Dea Trier Mørch i kunst og liv, which marks the 50th anniversary of Vinterbørn's publication. The biography draws extensively from archives of Røde Mor and the Communist Party of Denmark, preserved at Arbejdermuseet's Library and Archive.
