Søhesten presents live jazz on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 20-22 with the Tazelaar/ Artved/ Moseholm/ Hess quartet. The line-up features Gideon Tazelaar on ts, Jacob Artved on g, Felix Moseholm on b and Mikkel Hess on dr.
Gideon Tazelaar, Jacob Artved and Felix Moseholm are described as three outstanding young European jazz talents who met in New York City and have since developed their shared group sound under the mentorship of George Coleman. Tazelaar is a Dutch saxophonist whose sound is rooted in the tradition of John Coltrane, Coleman Hawkins and Sonny Rollins, and he has also received acclaim from Wynton Marsalis. Jacob Artved is from Copenhagen, lives in New York, has collaborated with Billy Hart, Louis Hayes and David Wong, and has released four albums under his own name. Felix Moseholm, also from Copenhagen, is known for his work with Brad Mehldau, Samara Joy and Fred Hersch's bands and, since graduating from Juilliard, has toured extensively and appeared on critically acclaimed recordings, two of which have won a Grammy and received three nominations. This fall, the three musicians return home as part of a tour across Europe.
