Eupatheia arranges a festive celebration of Michel Foucault's 100th birthday with lectures, drinks and conversation. Although Foucault would have been born on 15 October, the event is moved to Thursday 8 October before the autumn break.
The evening features a glass of champagne upon arrival, followed by presentations from two leading Foucault scholars:
- Professor Louise Fabian (AU), who wrote the introduction to the Danish translation of Foucault's classic lecture "What is Critique?" (1978), published by Forlaget Mindspace
- Professor Sverre Raffnsøe (CBS), editor-in-chief since 2006 of the international journal 'Foucault Studies'
Following the presentations, there is an opportunity for questions, discussion and informal conversation about Foucault's work and legacy. A full bar offers wine and beer throughout the event.
