Experience an impressive flamenco evening with three accomplished artists who bring passion, virtuosity and southern European warmth to the stage. This concert brings together dancer Jossette Reilly, singer Maria Scalvini and guitarist Poul Jacek Knudsen in an exciting new constellation.
The Artists
- Jossette Reilly (dance, palmas) – Puerto Rican flamenco dancer with 10 years of intensive training under master Antonio Santaella and further education in Madrid under teachers including Cristobal Reyes and María Magdalena. She has served as choreographer for artists such as Ricky Martin and flamenco star Joaquin Cortez, and has worked with the Cullberg Ballet in Stockholm.
- Maria Scalvini (singing, palmas) – Flamenco singer and daughter of the legendary "Manolo de Utrera" from Seville. She performed from a young age with her family's group and later with "Sort Velour" alongside guitarists Henrik Liebgott and Jesper Jordan.
- Poul Jacek Knudsen (guitar) – Danish flamenco guitarist and composer, leader of the group "Flamenco Passion", which has released three albums. He has worked with musicians such as Bjarke Falgren (violin) and Mathias Heise (mouth harp), and has accompanied singers including Pepita Rohde and Gustavo Rey.
Maria and Poul recently resumed their collaboration after performing together in the musical "Don Quixote – A Man from La Mancha" at Det Ny Teater. Jossette and Poul have previously worked together in "Flamenco Passion" and at Flamencougen in July the same year.
