Experience Nørrebro's dramatic past from the German occupation of Denmark on a guided tour with an expert from the Police Museum. The streets become a narrative of resistance, German terror, and destruction during 1944-1945.
The tour focuses on some of the period's most significant events and people:
- The internment of police on 19 September 1944 and the subsequent police-free period
- The devastating consequences of German counter-terror
- The general strike and liquidation of informants
- The arrest of resistance fighter Citronen
- The internment of around 2,000 police officers in German concentration and prisoner-of-war camps
The route starts at the Police Museum, covers approximately 2 km through Nørrebro's streets, and ends near Dronning Louises Bro. You can then choose to return to the museum with your guide. Museum admission is included in the ticket price, and you can visit the exhibitions the same day before the museum closes.
