Experience a guided tour through MACA Museum's inaugural exhibition, exploring the street art phenomenon of Banksy and the historical development of street art. Through the tour, you'll gain insight into Banksy's career from his start as a graffiti artist in Bristol in the early 1990s to his status as a world-famous artist known for politically provocative works on walls and buildings worldwide.
The tour spans art history broadly: from ancient Rome's city slang, through impressionism's breakthrough with artists like Manet, across avant-garde art after the world wars with Duchamp and Warhol, to graffiti's emergence in 1970s New York and on to today's street art movement. At the same time, you'll get a unique look at the museum's other international contemporary art with works by Warhol, Basquiat, Haring, Koons, Hirst, Emin and Kusama.
The tour is led by Frederik Lindskov and lasts approximately 90 minutes. Maximum 25 participants.
