In October, ALICE hosts an evening with Palestinian Sound Archive, where sound, images and stories come together in a living archive of Palestinian cultural heritage. Founder Mo'min Swaitat presents the archive through an introduction, a short documentary and a talk on archiving as a decolonial method and an act of resistance, focusing on how music and voices can preserve collective memory and cultural identity.
Palestinian Sound Archive was founded by Mo'min Swaitat in 2019 to preserve and share Palestine's rich sonic history. Over the past seven years, the archive has collected and communicated hundreds of stories about Palestinian musicians and sound artists through radio, club events, audiovisual installations, live performances, research and music reissues. The evening ends with a DJ set based on music from the archive, and there will be an opportunity to buy vinyl releases and merch from Palestinian Sound Archive. Admission: 155 kr.
