Discover the art of patchwork on this hands-on 1-day workshop, where you will learn to combine fabric scraps into beautiful patterns and pictorial motifs. Through working with form, color, and texture, you'll gain insight into how this classic technique can be used to create original artworks.
Under the guidance of artist and designer Cecilie Schou Grønbeck – trained at the Royal Academy and Kunsthochschule Weissensee in Berlin – you will work with your own materials and sewing machine. Each participant creates their own patchwork piece, which after the course becomes part of a shared bulletin board at Osramhuset's textile studio. The workshop requires no prior patchwork experience, but you should be comfortable using a sewing machine. All materials and machines are provided.
There will be breaks throughout the day, and you are welcome to bring a packed lunch. Cold beverages can be purchased with mobile pay. Maximum 8 participants to ensure personal guidance.
