Creature Close-Up is presented by Portuguese saxophonist, composer, and improviser Bernardo Tinoco. The group was established in Copenhagen and unfolds Tinoco's musical vision through compositions written for musicians with diverse cultural backgrounds. Jazz serves as the primary source of inspiration, but the repertoire also incorporates elements from pop and classical music.
Butcher / Corsano / Stoffner brings three virtuoso instrumentalists together: John Butcher on saxophone, Florian Stoffner on guitar, and Chris Corsano on drums. Their music is distinguished by a refined approach to overtones, subtle tonal nuances, and quiet spaces between sounds. Corsano's rhythms flow like spider webs on a misty morning, Butcher's tone mastery and Stoffner's precision create an intimate and nuanced sonic landscape, where the guitar's hidden sounds—sighing, tinkling, and powerful chords—are filled with expression.
