On the first Saturday of each month, Anna invites you to explore the energetic reggaeton movements originating from Puerto Rico and Panama. Reggaeton is a music genre with roots in Latin American and Caribbean music, blended with Jamaican reggae and dancehall as well as hip-hop-inspired lyrics in Spanish. The dance style developed in 1980s Panama and is built on dynamic hip movements to characteristic 'dem bow' rhythms.
In the workshop you will learn simple reggaeton moves and practice using your hips, waist, chest and shoulders to the festive rhythms. You don't need any dance experience to join – what matters most is that you love to dance and want to have fun with other participants. Instruction can be provided in English upon request.
Admission: 75 kr. The event takes place at Folkehuset Absalon.
