Resonance of Echoes

Musical memories without words — when instrumental music tells a story without language. Felicia Greciuc and Esbjerg Ensemble explore the meeting between artist and tradition through works by Goldschmidt, Koppel, Weinberg, Mendelssohn and Elgar, with Jewish musical heritage as a foundation.

The concert unfolds through varying ensembles of oboe and strings, each combination opening new ways of listening. Henrik Goldschmidt's Tikvateinu (oboe quartet, premiere), Herman D. Koppel's Divertimento pastorale and Mieczyslaw Weinberg's String Trio op. 48 alternate with Mendelssohn's Four Songs Without Words arranged for oboe and string trio, and Elgar's classic encounter between the same instruments.
