Hobby Horse presents a double bill featuring two excellent jazz projects. Prize-winning bassist Richard Andersson leads the trio NOR, which has performed more than 100 times across Scandinavia over the past decade. Their expression is shaped by Nordic melancholy and carefully measured temperament.
Richard Andersson NOR takes the stage in a special collaboration with trumpeter Anne Efternøler, whose personal voice and poetic storytelling opens new dimensions in the trio's musical world. Besides Andersson, NOR comprises two of Iceland's most prominent jazz musicians: saxophonist Oskar Gudjonsson (known from ADHD, Jakob Bro and Mezzoforte) and drummer Matthias Hemstock. The trio released the album Nor (2017) and The Six of Us (2018), both met with enthusiasm from Danish and international media. Their latest album, Undo (2023), was nominated for Danish Music Awards.
Ocean Fanfare is a Danish-Polish quartet consisting of trumpeter Tomasz Dabrowski, saxophonist Sven Dam Meinild, bassist Richard Andersson and drummer Peter Bruun. Since 2012, the group has developed a distinctive collective voice within open, improvisation-based music. At the concert, they present music from their forthcoming album Third Nature – Temporal Polyphony, which releases June 12, 2026. The quartet creates flexible compositions that embrace ambiguity and intuitive interplay, with precise phrases alternating with textural passages.
