Roald Als Dissects Danish History: A Lecture on Political Satire

Roald Als, one of Denmark's most renowned cartoonists, delivers a lecture on his extensive work documenting and commenting on Danish politics through drawings. Based on his new book "Roald's Danish History - 1980-2026 from Anker to Mette," he takes you through five decades of Danish political satire.

Throughout history, you will encounter his iconic interpretations of Danish prime ministers and political moments — from the era of Anker H. Jørgensen to Mette Frederiksen. Roald Als portrays both major events, blunders and scandals, showing how his pen has captured the essence of Danish politics time and again.

As a cartoonist for Politiken since 1994 — and previously for Weekendavisen — Als has established himself as one of Danish culture's most important voices. The lecture combines artistic insight with historical perspective, offering an inside look at the process behind some of the media landscape's most memorable cartoons.

After the lecture, there will be a break with the opportunity to purchase beverages and have your book signed by the author.
