Step behind the curtains at the award-winning Royal Playhouse, dramatically positioned on the waterfront of Copenhagen Harbour. Experience the Main Stage with its distinctive intimate grotto atmosphere – inspired by Italian Renaissance architecture – and gain insight into the building's carefully designed architecture and sophisticated lighting system.
During this 75-minute guided tour, you gain access to areas never seen by regular theatre-goers. Walk backstage where technicians work daily to build and adjust sets and lighting for performances. Explore the theatre's many rehearsal rooms and production spaces, and discover the creative process behind Denmark's largest theatrical productions.
The tour is arranged according to artistic needs – if rehearsals or urgent technical adjustments are underway, the route may differ from the usual path. The tour is conducted in Danish.
You have the option to combine your tour with dining: lunch or dinner at Aamanns Replik restaurant, or a glass of wine with a sandwich in the foyer.
