Experience Denmark's oldest theatre from the inside. Since 1857, Folketeatret has been a pioneer in Danish cultural history – the first theatre to open its doors to children and continues with the mission to create theatre for everyone.
During this guided tour, you gain a unique insight into how a theatre production is created. You will go behind the scenes through the theatre's many winding corners, visit the paint shop, the carpenter's workshop, the mask-maker, and the costume department, and learn important theatre terminology. At the same time, you explore Folketeatret's three stages – Store Scene, Hippodromen, and Kvisten – as well as the beautiful foyer.
The tour lasts approximately 75 minutes and can be tailored to your desired theme, performance, or specific age group and learning objectives. It fits subjects such as Danish, drama, history, and students' overall development.
