Do you want to try writing historical fiction? This writing workshop is led by author Harald Voetmann, who will guide you through the genre via introduction and practical writing exercises. Whether you already have a specific time period in mind or are looking for inspiration to get started, the workshop is open to everyone with an interest in writing – no experience required.
About the instructor: Harald Voetmann (b. 1978) is a literary author and translator. Since 2000, he has published novels, short stories and poems, including the recent novel Lysmesse (2025), and has simultaneously translated works from Latin, including works by Catullus and Petronius.
Practical: The workshop takes place at Copenhagen Main Library and lasts two hours. Participation is free but registration is required. Bring your own computer and/or paper and pen – computers are not provided. Desk space is very limited, so you will likely need to work with your device on your lap. The library provides a writing board. Water and coffee machines are available on the 4th floor; bring your own water bottle.
