Learn to transform real events, experiences, and stories into engaging, literarily crafted narratives. In this two-hour workshop, you'll explore narrative nonfiction with Mette Mayli Albæk, a journalist, author, and head of nonfiction publishing at Politikens Forlag.
The workshop explores how to combine research, facts, and personal voices with narrative techniques that create depth and reader engagement. You'll gain practical tools for:
- Research and source criticism — find and select material that can support your story
- Narrative techniques — use scenes, dialogue, sensory details, and perspective to bring your subjects to life
- Ethics and responsibility — tell others' stories with respect while maintaining a strong voice and form
- Your own voice — discover the personal angle that makes your writing unique
Teaching alternates between presentations and practical writing exercises. The workshop is open to adults of all levels and takes place at Christianshavns Library.
