Join the course Site-Specific Color Schemes in Architecture and Space and learn to apply color to architecture with sensitivity for the place — its history, surroundings, people, atmosphere, and future use. Through an analytical and thorough approach, you develop color plans that add meaning and value without relying solely on current design trends.
Course Program
The day combines introduction, practical work, and dialogue. Begin with color exercises and presentations on color systems plus the Bjørch & Rask method. Next, you work in groups through a workshop where you analyze and develop a color scheme for a real case — this gives you hands-on experience with how color can balance a place's history and new functions. The course concludes with shared discussions of the day's insights.
About the Instructors
Design duo Bjørch & Rask — Fie Bjørch (born 1989) and Benjamin Rask (born 1993) — specialize in color schemes, materials, and textiles in architectural contexts. With a background in textile design, they work with strong material understanding and focus on scale, construction, light, and the sensory experience of built space. Their practice encompasses color strategies for new buildings, renovations, transformations, site-specific furnishings, and wayfinding.
Practical Information
The course takes place at FABRIKKEN for Kunst og Design. Snacks and refreshments are served. See the website for ticket booking.
