Take Over is a creative community event for young people, inviting participants out to Youth Island – located at the historic Middelgrund Fort approximately 30 minutes' sail from Copenhagen. The event takes place every other Wednesday in even weeks and gives young people the opportunity to express themselves creatively, develop ideas and work on projects together.
On the island, you have access to a ceramics workshop, sound studio, library, various workshops and the fort's own adventurous spaces with long passages and wild nature. You can engage with everything from project sparring and idea development to crafts such as knitting and sewing, building and repair projects – or entirely different projects you might be dreaming about. The format is informal: the focus is on everyone having a good experience, and there are always young hosts present who can help you get started. If you have your own idea for facilitating something creative, you are welcome to contact the organisers.
