Taktløs String Tour brings four artists from Musikkollektivet Taktløs to Brønshøj Water Tower, where their music is reinterpreted by a classical string quartet with two cellos, a viola and a violin. The concert gathers Slalum, PARSUM, Aquire and Hvælving in a new format, with each artist performing four songs in new arrangements created by the composers Lars Emil Hedegaard Mortensen and Simon Buhl.
The musical range spans cinematic pop, jazz, indie and rock fusion to underground rap. Slalum works with hip-hop inspired by the MPC sound of the 1990s as well as electronic and industrial beats, while PARSUM writes Danish-language songs in an intimate and melancholic indie style. Aquire combines colourful vocal harmonies, offbeat grooves and electronic soundscapes, and Hvælving merges the traditions of church music with a contemporary sonic universe.
The programme consists of 2 set á 45 min concert, and the doors open half an hour before. Please note that the Water Tower is unheated, so warm clothing is recommended. The event highlights young, experimental artists and explores what happens when music from different genres is given new life in the meeting with the classical string quartet and the venue's distinctive acoustics.
