Vokalensemblet Gaudium invites you to All Saints' concerts titled The Land of Dreams – an immersive musical experience about dreams, memory and imagination. The concert centres on newly composed works by Jesper Koch to texts by English poet William Blake, created specifically for the choir and the dramatic acoustics of Brønshøj Water Tower.
The music moves between innocence and experience, light and darkness, life and death. Works such as 'Auguries of Innocence' and the concluding movement 'The Land of Dreams' depict a dreamland where boundaries between reality, memory and imagination dissolve. The programme is supplemented with works from contemporary choral composers such as Joanna Marsh, Kerensa Briggs and Gabriella Gullin, as well as classics by Vagn Holmboe and Edward Elgar. The choir's conductor Gustav Lundgaard Seistrup also premieres the work 'Dreamland'.
Vokalensemblet Gaudium is a mixed choir for young singers (18-35 years) based in Copenhagen. Since 2020, the ensemble has worked with classical choral tradition while being an important platform for new Danish choral music.
