Experience African rhythms, songs, rhymes and dances in a beginner-friendly drum circle led by Anders Storyteller. The program features traditional rhythms from both East and West Africa through name songs, solo improvisations and shared musical play.
Children (from age 3) are guided through a musical story with various basic beats and rhythm figures – from a visit to a military barracks, to finding the girl Maria, hunting for birds and ending with a dance party featuring both solo and group dances.
All children and parents have the opportunity to play on a large collection of African stick drums, hand drums and other percussion instruments, so no one needs to sit without an instrument.
Admission: Donations in the hat.
