Troubadour – Love for Tønder is an original theatre concert drawing inspiration from 50 years of folk music at the Tønder Festival. Six artists – actors and musicians combined – form a tight ensemble where theatrical drama and concert experience flow together into one grand production.
In the first act, you gain access to an intimate backstage chaos – one hour before the concert was supposed to begin. Tensions, old conflicts and nostalgic memories swirl among the performers as you witness interpretations of classic troubadour songs through history. You are a spectator to it all, like a fly on the wall, both present and detached.
In the second act, the illusion breaks. The fourth wall falls, and the audience becomes part of the concert itself. The format is daring and minimalist, yet ambitious and grand in its expression.
