Celebrate the winter solstice with us at Vesterbro Library – the year's shortest day is marked with music, literature and community around the return of light. Experience how different art forms unfold around this ancient turning point.
Program
- Concert: The string trio Vesselil performs music that weaves folk musical tradition and classical composition together. The group has released the album 'Til Kirsten' and its self-titled debut album.
- Author Reading: Sofie Isager Ahl, author and Ph.D. in anthropology behind the award-winning novel 'Lysbønder', reads from her new poetry collection 'Elegier over jorden'. The poems explore the rebirth of nature – a theme that resonates perfectly with the solstice's symbolism of the transition from darkness to light.
The evening concludes with refreshments, where you can toast with fellow visitors in the spirit of light celebration.
