This is the second edition of "Welcome to Burlesque" at Folkehuset Absalon, organized in collaboration with the Danish burlesque ensemble Sweet Sensations. The group has performed for audiences from Las Vegas to Berlin and at major Danish venues such as the DR Concert Hall and Copenhell.
The evening features a mix of new group and solo performances never before seen at Absalon. Two guest performers from the burlesque scene also bring their own exclusive performances to the show. Expect dazzling costumes with rhinestones, gloves, feathers and boas – as well as accessible burlesque moves that everyone can try. The iconic opening number invites you into a world of mystery, femininity and power, combined with fierce and sultry solo performances.
Burlesque is an art form that celebrates freedom, courage and self-expression. It is a storytelling form that combines sensuality and satire through dance, movement and theatrical stage personas that playfully challenge gender and beauty norms. The show is about reclaiming your body and inspiring others to do the same – always with humour and sass.
After the show, the evening continues with an afterparty where everyone is invited to the dancefloor for a night full of glamour, seduction and surprises.
