Wyatt E. and Five The Hierophant present an international doom project returning with the first part of an ambitious double album. After two years of intensive work, the band unveils a new and experimental direction, building on previous releases and continuing a thematic journey through exile, mythology and historical narratives expressed through a contemporary doom aesthetic.
The album release is filled with innovative sound design and collaborations from international artists. Two drum kits were recorded simultaneously to achieve spatial intensity, while instruments such as saz, viola, sitar and bugle create a varied and atmospheric soundscape. For the first time, vocal tracks appear in the project – an Iranian singer and led vocal arrangements add new dimensions to the instrumental foundation and emphasize the work's narrative character.
Five The Hierophant have spent 10 years as a mysterious collective from Croydon in south London, practising musical hypnosis through an extensive discography. With "Apeiron", the group has formulated a unique sound that elegantly weaves together doom, drone, jazz and post-metal. Jon Roffey's distinctive saxophone work forms dark, meditative rituals that constitute the music's core foundation. The production is brought together by an experienced producer from the modern doom and post-metal scene, binding the multifaceted elements into a cohesive sonic experience.
